🌿 A Year of Growth, Learning, and Evolution at Bestlife NZ: new formulation multi-vitamin. 

Where we have come from

In March 2024, we launched our first multivitamin with a clear and singular mission: to support and enhance methylation pathways — the body’s essential system for detoxification, brain function, energy production, and much more. We didn’t start by checking off the standard list of vitamins and minerals. Instead, we built a product around what truly matters: active ingredients that work from day one.

At the core of this formula was Methylcobalamin, the active form of B12, chosen for its direct role in supporting neurological health and homocysteine regulation. This was paired with L-Methylfolate (5-MTHF) , the only form of folate that doesn’t require conversion in the body, making it especially effective for those with MTHFR polymorphisms or compromised metabolic systems - which is especially high in Maori and Polynesian communities.

To further support these critical methylation processes, we included:

• SAM-e (S-Adenosylmethionine) — a powerful methyl donor known for its benefits in mood, joint comfort, and liver function.
  
  

• Choline Bitartrate — an essential nutrient for acetylcholine synthesis, cognitive performance, and liver metabolism.
  
  

Together, these ingredients formed the first-ever Bestlife Multi+, a formulation designed not just to cover daily nutritional needs, but to actively improve methylation efficiency, which in turn enhances overall nutrient uptake and absorption.

This was a great start — not because it had the most ingredients, but because it had the right ones, all in their most bioavailable forms. It set the foundation for everything we’ve done since and continues to guide our commitment to clean, science-backed nutrition tailored for real results. We were really proud of this multi - and to show just how proud - from day 1 we worked on how we could improve it further - which has become a labour of love for me. Working on this multi was the catalyst for understanding what Bestlife is all about, and we developed our core values from this work. We started with a commitment “we will only sell what we take ourselves”, and as we worked we unpacked this statement into some values.  

Our Values

The first value we started with:

1. Whatever we produce the ultimate health outcome trumps everything else. This means it’s health first - not making $ or saving $, not convenience (for us), not anything except our health. 

This means the following:

• We wont low dose or overstate our products - some companies place many ingredients into a product with 500mg capsule limits that are not at a dose that could do anything meaningful. We wont do this - and we wont boast 6000mg doses without really saying that means take 20 capsules a day. This is bullshit, pure and simple.
  
  

• We wont use ingredients that are low cost or low quality but can't be absorbed or have low impact - this is endemic in the industry. This means you are paying for beautifully glowing urine or sub-optimal products. The ingredients we use may look the same as competitors, but we will have the absolute best form of that ingredient. Example - Shilajit must be harvested from either the Himalayan, Altai, Caucasus, or Tibet mountains, contain at least 60% fulvic acid and be harvested from a minimum sea level height of 16000 feet above. You might not see this when you compare - but it will be the case for us - and you can bet on that.    
  
  

• We wont put ingredients into our products that we know you expect to see, while knowing that they don't really work like that. Iron and Calcium are like this - they often cause problems for other ingredients. People expect to see iron in a multi - but it should not necessarily be there with what we know today. Companies put it in knowing that, but also wanting you to see what you think should be there so you buy it.
  
  

2. Food is first - we only exist to supplement it. These days the food is not great, so we are here for that. This means our multi focuses on what is being depleted in our soils and foods.
   
   

3. Look after our own first: our multi is NZ specific - but we will branch out - and the commonalities are not too far off. This also means we tailor to gender (only 2), ethnicity (our people) and age. We market 30+.
   
   

4. Our products will only contain complementary ingredients that work for the body as a whole unit - for example, we wont add vitamin D3 without K2 - to ensure that calcium is directed into bones and not arteries.
   
   

5. Our products are 100% science-backed. 
   
   

6. Continually improve - if you find something is off - and our research confirms that, we will fix it. We may not be able to do it straight away (obviously unless it's a health and safety issue). 

BESTLIFE Methylated Multi + - NEW FORMULA

BestlifeNZ will now offer a multivitamin with the 3-tier system - the first of its kind. Tier 1: baseline products - that slightly differ between men and women - but remain basically the same across all versions. Tier 2: specialized ingredients that target the traditional concerns faced by aging people 30+. Tier 3: a sachet that boosts the multi specialized ingredients beyond what you would normally expect to achieve.

These multivitamin recipes are formulated with the absolute best ingredients - every mg in that capsule will be utilized in your body. We've spent months, long nights and sore brains trying to figure this out for maximum benefit. 

This all sounds easier than it actually is - capsule colouring can cause better stability for some ingredients, some ingredients are taken with food, others on an empty stomach, capsules have a 500mg limit - and the list goes on. Many ingredients cannot be absorbed by the body unless in a specific form, often ingredients cancel each other out  (like copper and Vitamin C), some ingredients cause a deficit in other minerals or vitamins in your body (taking zinc - decreases copper). All of these conditions have to come together to create an optimized product. None of this, for the most part, will be openly discussed by your standard vitamin supplement company - for obvious reasons.

What’s next

We will finalize our new formulas, likely this week or early next week, once we have confirmed ingredient availability and price. Once we have that I will release the new ingredients for you all to take a look and let us know what you think. From there the multi is just the start - we will be releasing a new B-Complex formula and then shifting gears. We will head into a set of detox products - spike protein detox; heavy metals detox and nanoplastics detox protocols in particular. This is just the beginning of the journey and we’d like to thank you all for being part of it.   

Ultimately, we will produce all products here in NZ where we will be able to utilize genetic reports to develop individualized supplement regimens for each individual - tailored to your specific make-up. We think this is where the future lies. At present NZ does not have the capacity to develop the reports, but we are looking to do a deal with an overseas country to make this work. Sending vials of - basically spit - through the post to another country, however, after covid, is not an easy task; but progress is being made.
