Best Life Venture Ltd

The BestLife Story: Born from frustration, ending in pride and satisfaction.
Every great company starts with a "why." Ours didn't begin in a lab or a boardroom. It started with frustration.
Like many of you, we were passionate about our health and performance - especially more so when we hit our 40's - when we decided, like many of you, that we needed to start safeguarding our future health, movement and longevity. We were dedicated customers, buying the latest supplements, believing the bold claims on the labels, and trusting that we were getting what we paid for. We were chasing our best lives, and we thought these products were an important part of that story.
But we started to feel something was off. The results we were getting didn't match the hype. The "revolutionary" formulas felt… underwhelming; and we started looking into the products, ingredients and the industry. At that time there were a number of companies that had their products independently reviewed and tested in NZ, and some were coming up with zero active ingredients in their products - and others, with high levels of dangerous metal residues, etc.
Essentially, what we discovered was an industry filled with gimmicks designed to dazzle the consumer, while short-changing them on quality and results - and in some cases actually placing our long-term health at risk. We weren't just disappointed; we were fed up. This frustration became our fuel. BestlifeNZ wasn't founded on a dream of profit, but on a promise of integrity.
Here are the industry secrets we uncovered—the very problems BestLife was created to solve:
1. The "Phantom Ingredient" Game: Forms That Don't Function
This was one of our first big revelations. An ingredient on a label isn't just an ingredient. The specific form it comes in determines whether your body can actually use it.
The Gimmick: A product boasts "Magnesium" or "Zinc," but uses cheap, poorly absorbed forms like Magnesium Oxide or Zinc Oxide. These are essentially chalk-like compounds that pass through your system with minimal benefit. Similarly, a product might say "Folic Acid" instead of the more bioavailable "Methylfolate," or "Chromium" instead of "Chromium Picolinate.
2. The "Fairy Dust" Low-Dosing
Seeing a powerful ingredient on the label feels reassuring. But what if the dose is so low it's practically useless?
The Gimmick: Companies will include a well-known, effective ingredient but at a dose far below what scientific studies have shown is needed to produce a result. This allows them to put it on the label for marketing appeal without incurring the cost of an effective dose. This is often called "fairy dusting." Even now - when companies jump on the "creatine for your brain" bandwagon - how many acknowledge that the amount per day used during the study was 20 grams!
3. The "Black Box" of Proprietary Blends
This is perhaps the most deceptive practice in the industry, and it made us angrier than anything else.
The Gimmick: Instead of listing the exact amount of each ingredient, companies group them into a "Proprietary Blend" and only list the total weight of the blend. This hides the actual dosage of every single component inside. Is that blend 500mg of the key ingredient and 50mg of ten others? You have no idea. It’s a black box, and you’re paying for the mystery. ESPECIALLY WITH CAPSULES - where a 500mg total is what a capsule can hold - for the most part.
4. The "Study-Swap" Bait-and-Switch
This is a subtle but devastating trick. A product cites impressive scientific studies to back up its claims, but there's a catch.
The Gimmick: The ingredient they use is different from the one used in the study they're referencing. It might be a cheaper, less effective form, or a different type of extract altogether. The claim is technically based on science, but that science doesn't apply to their formula.
So we started out purchasing high-quality ingredients for ourselves, and things started to grow from there. We thought - well, we can't be the only ones that are disappointed and want good quality, safe supplements that you count on - every time. Abbs and I said - "what are we trying to do here", and the answer was "live our best lives". So we thought - let's help others live their best lives too.
Our Promise: back to old-school basics.
BestlifeNZ was born out of the basic Kiwi values we grew up with:
- Basic Hospitality: if you wouldn't eat it yourself - or buy it like that, dont push it on to other people.
- Respect: treat others the way you would like to be treated - with dignity and respect.
- Basic health as a right - health and family care come before anything else - before utility, ease or profits. People are taking these products for their health and we have a responsibility to ensure that's what they are getting - they feed our products to the friends, loved ones and family; and that's what's important.
We started this company for one simple reason: to make the products we couldn't find. The ones built on transparency, potency, and integrity. The ones that deliver real, noticeable results because they are formulated with truth from the ground up. If you choose to take our products - you will notice the difference.
If a blend in clinical doses is too high for your capsule - we put it in a pouch - simple. If an ingredient produced in a particular manner was tested and was highly beneficial - we get that ingredient - not an ingredient produced in an inferior manner and try to pass it off as "proven to do X or y".
If you want to talk to us about this - give us a call. (64) 022 3600 181. Or drop us an email - contactus@bestlifenz.com or jason@bestlifenz.co or abby@bestlifenz.com. You won't get endless fucking runarounds from a computer, no contact details that are real or, some Ai bot.
Our future - we are selling up and purchasing a small farm up north of NZ - where we will begin growing our own lines of supergreens, superfoods, nootropics and adaptogens, and who knows what else. We hope you guys become part of the BestlifeNZ family.
Sincerely - Jason & Abby.
